Uruguay pictures consist basically of Cabo Polonio kitch paradise....I didn't have time for more !

Cabo Polonio

Cabo Polonio being the last place I visited in South America, I will write the article in several languages so that nobody complains ;-)

Sandra came to get me at the airport in Montevideo and the next day we were off to Cabo Polonio, a paradisiac village 4h-drive + 15min truck away from the capital.

There is no running water or electricity...but if you want to cut from the real world, it's the place to go !

Sandra came to get me at the airport in Montevideo and the next day we were off to Cabo Polonio, a paradisiac village 4h-drive + 15min truck away from the capital.

We got there on Saturday and completely forgot there were elections on Sunday... The village was even quieter than usual, all the restaurants were shut and luckily the hostal we were heading to was the only one to be open ! You might wonder why are Uruguayan so into politics.... they are not that much...but they are fined if they don't vote !! Nice democracy...

Well, this is the cute little Hostal in which we stayed : Hostal del Cabo, right on the beach.

Oh, the key to our door was a small piece of wood .... I'm sure professional robbers don't go there, it would be far too easy ;-)

Cabo Polonio c'est le paradis du kitch, pour éviter d'encombrer le blog avec (encore plus !) de photos....en voilà un petit résumé.

Après une petite promenade, coucher du soleil au bord de la plage ... okay, c'est bon j'ai compris, vous en avez vu assez des photos de coucher du soleil ! Par contre, quand le village est resté dans le noir, le ciel nous a épatées : c'est peut-être le ciel le plus étoilé que je n'ai jamais vu (avec celui au Salar d'Uyuni... j'ai pas compté les étoiles...). En cadeau, une photo avec même une étoile filante ! Que demande le peuple ?

Pero el espectaculo aun no acaba ahi : las olas que rompian en la playa eran fluorescentes de la cantidad de plancton que habia ! Impresionante...

Y alli me lo pasé en grande haciendo fotos, saltando y todo lo que haga falta.....

Y cuando los primeros rayos de sol aparecieron, el viento de tierra y las olas nos ofrecieron otro bonito espectaculo :

D'allà ens vam seguir passejant, acompanyades d'un gos (o sac de puces, ja no ho sé!) a la vora del mar fins a un petit cap : Punta del Diablo.

Si, li agradava bastant jugar al gos !

Un cop a punta del Diablo, vaig fer una petita siesta (David, esta va por ti !) sobre les roques (pero no aquestes, que feia rasca !)

En fi, de tornada al poble, esperant al camio que ens duria fins al cotxe, em vaig entretenir amb els columpis dels nanos ;-)

Nothing else to say : Muchas gracias por todo Sandra ! Tu gères trop ! Je t'attens au Brésil quand j'aurai fait le plein de Cachaça et acheté quelques hamacs... En attendant, fais de beaux rêves en pensant à nos amis P$^*µ# et C¤^&% !

Montevideo here I come !

Change of Plans !

For once I tried to plan in advance, I'd been checking the plane tickets for about a month now to go from Buenos Aires to Iguazu and then Iguazu - Sao Paolo. But I never bought them....

Last week, whenI knew which days I was going to be in Buenos Aires I figured it was hight time i booked my way up to Sao Paolo....but obviously the prices had risen... too much !

Alternatively, Sandra, a french friend I met in the border between Bolivia and Argentina is working in Montevideo and invited me over .... why not ? Cheaper than Iguazu, I decided to go to Montevideo to spend my last long 4-day-week-end in South America and from there head to Sao Paolo.... no more buses !

Promise, I'll test the Uruguayan sun for you an suntan a little bit more before I go back to Europe !

Living in Brazil as of August, I will have the chance to go to the falls, they probably won't change much soon...

So, Montevideo here I come !

PS : I'm at the airport, and 3 months later I still can't get used to the annoying people that listen to music on their cell with no headphones ! Thank you for letting us enjoy your music, but hey, we'll be fine without !
